The PTA’s pre-Xmas involvement with the annual ‘Santa Run’ co-ordinated by Lichfield Round Table contributed to an amazing total for local charities of over £14,000.
The sum was revealed as part of the Lichfield Round Table’s presentation of a cheque for £455 to The Friary School PTA for their voluntary work on a very cold evening in December in Little Aston.
These funds add to the PTA total and bring the ambitious target of £10,000 ever closer.
Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “We are very grateful for the amazing support provided by Lichfield Round Table and it is wonderful for parents, former students and staff to play an active part in supporting local charities in our home district. The funds raised for our PTA will continue to support the improvement of school ICT facilities and those who chipped in will well understand, as I look forward to next year, that I am delighted that I received a new coat and set of gloves for Christmas this year.”
