Required for January 2018 – a dynamic and ambitious teacher of Mathematics to help lead a successful and forward-thinking department in our 11-18 community school of 1200 pupils (200 in the Sixth Form). The ideal candidate will be someone in their first or second job who is ready to progress, and who is willing and able to contribute to the development of the department in a focused, innovative and creative way. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to gain leadership and management experience.

Mathematics is a highly-regarded subject at The Friary with a history of excellent examination results at both GCSE and A-level.  The successful candidate will be expected to support the subject leader in all aspects of the subject’s development, with particular responsibility for a Key Stage, although specific responsibilities can be negotiated upon appointment.

The Friary has a strong academic record and was judged ‘good’ in all areas by Ofsted in 2014. The school occupies an attractive site in the cathedral city of Lichfield and enjoys a high reputation for its academic achievement as well as the quality of its extra-curricular activities.
