U13 Girls Football v Sundorne School Match Report PDF Print

On Wednesday 21st November The Friary girl’s U13 football team played Sundorne in the quarterfinals of the Minute Maid Cup.

The girls got off to a great start with Alex Liddiard scoring to make the score 1-0 to Friary. This was then followed with goals from Katie Wilkinson and Beth Merrick.

The opposition managed to score a goal at the other end and at half time the score was 3-1 to Friary.

After half time the girls came out ready and raring to go with a few goals up their sleeves. The goals in the second half came from Beth Merrick 1, Katie Wilkinson 2 and Josie Balla 1.

The midfield worked hard putting their crosses in and tackling back. Whilst the midfielders were doing their jobs the defenders worked extremely hard and were solid at the back. Sarah Nicholas had a really good game in goal, pulling off some great saves and only conceded one goal throughout the whole match.

The squad consisted of: - Tammy O’Sullivan, Josie Balla, Catherine Knight, Alex Liddiard, Beth Merrick, Sarah Nicholas, Alana Edwards, Jordan Hill, McKenize Fedrick, Abbie Hulme, Katie Burke and Katie Wilkinson (captain).

Beth Merrick was named player of the match.

Overall the team played an outstanding match and are now through to the semi final of the Minute Maid Cup.
