In Y10 pupils have a double Games lesson throughout the year.
One lesson is indoors and the second lesson is outdoors.
All the boys have a six week block of work in the Fitness Room to develop a greater understanding of Health and Fitness.
They choose another indoor and an outdoor activity to study up to Easter. They choose from:
* Indoor:
o Basketball
o Squash
o Swimming
o Volleyball
* Outdoor
o Hockey
o Rugby
o Soccer
During the Summer Term all pupils study Athletics and Cricket.
In Y11 pupils can opt to use the Fitness Room for a 12 week period.
They also follow the same options as selected in Y10.
Detailed
schemes of work are followed which satisfy easily the requirements of
the National Curriculum. Sports are studied at depth with plenty of
competition/varied roles experienced.
Extra
Curricular work is also pushed at Key Stage 4. There are many clubs and
Inter School fixtures for pupils to access and develop further. There
is also a Junior Sports Leaders Award available but this is delivered
after school and needs a wholehearted commitment from students as it is
a certificated course.
