PTA Report for 2008/9 This has been another successful year of fundraising by the Friary PTA. Approximately £4500 has been raised from a variety of events, including, the running of bars for school productions, a quiz evening, hosting the People 2 People venture and taking part in the Round Table Santa Tableau Collection. Some of the money raised has been used to sponsor Friary students on a Youth Enterprise challenge in Ethiopia and to fund ‘Action Jackson’ for a day of practical motivation, designed to help our students feel and think more positively about what they can achieve at school. My thanks to all the members of the PTA who help organise and run the fundraising events, and to those who turn up and support them. Finally on behalf of the PTA I would like to thank John Brough for his support over the years and to wish him a happy and exciting retirement. Anyone who wishes to actively take part in PTA activities is very welcome and can register their name with either myself or Ian Rose via the school office. Isobel Liddiard PTA Chair
