Both the Year 8 and the Year 9 girls football teams entered and played in the Cannock & District 5-aside Tournaments. Year 8 played their tournament on Wednesday 23rd January 2008 at Cheslyn Hay Sports and Community College, while Year 9 played their tournament on Thursday 24th January 2008 at Kingsmead Technology College.

Both teams faced a number of local schools throughout the tournament. The Year 8 teams were split into three pools with the winner of each pool then playing in a round robin to determine the winner of the competition. The Friary managed to win all their matches in the pool round and so advanced through to play in the round robin section. They successfully beat both the other teams to become the tournament winners. Alex Liddiard and Katie Wilkinson scored three goals each during the tournament and played extremely well dominating the matches.

The Year 9 teams were split into two pools with the winner and runners up of each pool playing each other to determine who would play in the final. The girls won there pool and advanced to the semi final, they won this game and then met Cardinal Griffin in the final. The Friary beat Cardinal Griffin 2-0 in the final and took the Year 9 title for 2008. Kirstie Southam scored both goals in the final and Shannon Edwards was awarded player of the match.
