  • The Physical Education Department continues to offer high quality curricular and extra curricular Physical Education and Sport.
  • The secret of being an “Outstanding” Department has been shared amongst the Directors of Sport in Staffordshire and the Partnership Schools in the Burntwood & Lichfield area.
  • Great Wyrley, Codsall and Weston Road have all visited the school for advice from the department.
  • Stafford Sports College and Robert Sutton Sports College have also sought support from Mr Broad.
  • Two people have visited the school for a weeks’ observation of a Secondary School PE Department before enrolling onto a PGCE course in Physical Education.
  • A past pupil, left last year in Y11, has been back to help the department and gain experience as a coach/leader. Mrs Callaway’s work with local primary schools develops further year on year.
  • Four pupils from Friary have applied to do “work experience” with the department during the last two weeks of this term.
  • Progress is being made with the planning process concerning the astro turf area to replace our existing Netball/Tennis Courts. Work will hopefully start before the end of term. Funding is still needed for the equipment required to fully resource the facility.
