In Y7 pupils taught in mixed ability groups in forms.From Y9 pupils are vertically streamed into four groups, becoming five groups inY10, in each of two parallel bands.

In Y7 – Y9 we follow a general science course using the QCA Department of Education recommended programme of study. Our top pupils, based on performance in Y8, start a three year GCSE Triple Science course in Y9. This leads GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics run by the OCR examining group.

In Y10 – Y11 we use the Oxford GCSE textbooks as our main resource leading to the OCR Core GCSE in Y10 and the Additional Science GCSE in Y11.
For pupils who perform better under continual assessment rather than an end of year exam, we offer a Level 2 BTEC in Science which is equivalent to two GCSEs

In Y12 – Y13 we use Nelson Thornes AS and A2 textbooks for all three Sciences.
