The Friary is famed locally for its music and drama. Recent shows include: Honk!, Oklahoma! and Little Shop of Horrors. The lower school now have their own production and they have already staged Bugsy Malone and Dracula Spectacula. For their exam performances, the sixth form Performing Arts students have performed Twelfth Night, A Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Arabian Nights and After Juliet.

Of course there is also the annual collaboration with the Music department - Encore - which features sketches, music, dance and drama. The Friday night performance is known as the "Sheriff's Show" as the Sheriff of Lichfield sells a number of tickets in aid of his charities.

Former students have gone on to study at prestigious places such as Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and RADA.sdillon.jpg

bro.jpgEx-pupil Sian Philips, now known as Sian Brooke, graduated from RADA and has appeared as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford. More recently she has starred in The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter and The Wizard of Oz at the Royal Festival Hall.

Former student Siobhan Dillon hit our TV screens last year in the BBC's How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?. Siobhan starred as Patty Simcox in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre, London and has also featiurured in a number of other West End productions, including Legally Blonde.
