Friary students produced their own self-portraits as part of our support for Lichfield Cathedral’s most recent artistic celebration of Christmas.

The exhibit, entitled ‘In the Image & Likeness: A constellation of Images’, has been styled by Peter Walker and includes home-grown self-portrait galleries hanging across the West Midlands – including ours at school – and celebrates what it is like to be human.

Peter Walker, the artist leading the project, said: “This artwork encourages people to think about identity, human dignity, and what they want to say about themselves through self-portrait.”

Matt Allman, Headteacher, added: “Our students are always keen to get involved in the Cathedral’s art projects and have previously been involved in exhibitions involving angels, doves and the like. It is well worth visiting and there is also a chance to see the charity Christmas tree competition which once more The Friary has an entry in.”
