Year 12 students were fortunate enough to visit PwC in Birmingham for the #FuturesUp event held by Uptree.

The session was an employability workshop designed to invigorate and motivate students into exploring alternatives outside of the world of work and university pathways.

There was an inspirational speech from ‘Every Child Needs a Mentor’ CEO and founder, Herman Stewart, along with opportunities to ‘pick the brains’ of employers from firms such as ARM, Morgan Sindall, West Midlands Police and PWC themselves.

This opportunity was designed to help to inform their decisions regarding what pathway to choose next year in Year 13 and support future university and job applications.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “The opportunity to make contacts at PwC is only a good one for our students and moving forward this experience can inform future applications and interviews. It is a competitive world out there and exam results alone are not enough. We work to set our students that little bit apart.”
