We are very much a school which looks to apprenticeships as much as Sixth Form and so on – there are some wonderful opportunities out there which are well worth exploring. Certainly, our Careers and Aspirations Team are well-versed on the opportunities and application processes.

One of our recent Sixth Formers who gained a place on a higher-level apprenticeship was Brennan Downes who went off to Jaguar Land Rover and his experience has become a case study profile for Jaguar in presenting the excellent programme they offer.

You can read a full update on Brennan’s experience here and here.

Matt Allman, Headteacher, said: “With the high university fees, and the superb programmes on offer, we encourage all students to consider the apprenticeship route. This could be with a local small business, or an international company, but all of them offer further training and qualifications which reach right up to degree level. Brennan is a success story – we are very proud of him – but there are plenty others alongside him too and hopefully more to come.”
